House Rules

Welcome to Two Capes Retreat
First Rule - Have FUN and enjoy your time on the Cape! We are thrilled that you are interested in our home.

Below are a few house rules. We want to ensure that you have an extraordinary experience.

Check-in is 4:00 pm and checkout is 10:00 am
Please note that this home is not for parties.
Typically we do not accept guests under 25 yr without contacting us first for approval vs instant book. We would then request the intention of the stay and ages of your group. We typically do not accept local stays. Please feel free to inquire and start a dialogue and indicate your interest and why you want to stay locally.

We want you to feel as comfortable as us knowing that this is the best fit for your stay.

Note that we do have a ring doorbell camera facing the walkway and driveway. This is used for the homes safety, security purposes, and the safety of guests. There are also outdoor cameras controlled by the condo association at the pool.

Pets - We do not allow any pets. This is a rule of the Condo association and would require their approval in advance of stay, no exceptions. Additionally, any animals on the property require proof of liability insurance covering said animal. Required in advance of stay.

Guests - As mentioned above, no parties on site. A visitor or two from the area is fine with prior permission from the host. Please be respectful to the neighbors. Guests can have up to two more guests visiting before 10:00 p.m. and you must get prior permission, and count cannot surpass 6 people (all ages) total at the home. All people staying overnight or past 10:00 p.m. must be listed in the reservation guest count. Your reservation is for the number of guests in the reservation. Each guest over that count is $20 more per night if not added to the Airbnb platform prior to check-in. This will be charged via the resolution center. If added prior to check in the cost is $20 per night for guests over the reservation count. Our pricing online reflects the number of guests that you booked for. It is calculated when the booking occurs. Our cleaners need to plan accordingly and last-minute additional cleaning and usage of services can be cumbersome for all. This is very important to allow us to schedule the cleaner's time and be sure that the stay is covered by Airbnb. Failure to notify the owner and receive approval will result in a $250 fee for violating house rules and hosting a gathering of any kind. If you have other circumstances please let us know and give us the opportunity to work with you.

There should be no more than two guest vehicles at one time without prior permission. If there is a party or large gathering over the allowable guest count and those house rules are violated, the reservation can be canceled immediately without a refund. Please do not park in front of any garage other than the unit's garage. Extra spaces are available at the end of each building.

Linens and towels - We love that we are able to provide fresh clean linens. Please put the sheets and pillowcases in the wash on the morning of departure. Failure to strip the beds and put sheets in the wash will result in a $30 fee from the cleaners. We do ask that guests wash and dry the towels and return to the linen closet before you leave. Time is too short between their cleanings. This rule is very important because we do not want it to be a surprise later to our guests if the cleaner has charged an extra fee. ***Linens for the beds are provided as part of the cleaning fee however guests must put them in the wash the morning of departure. To keep cleaning fees reasonable, towels are available but tenants must wash towels and return to the linen closet. By confirming this you agree to return the towels to the linen closet washed or to pay the $2 fee by the cleaner. Used sheets and pillowcases should be removed from the beds and put in the wash prior to departure. The cleaner will finish them when they arrive.

Dishes - Dirty dishes should be loaded into the dishwasher and run prior to departure. Failure to do so results in $20 extra services needed by the cleaner to wait four hours for the dishwasher to finish.

Other - Absolutely no smoking of any substance inside the home. Smoking outside in the parking area is fine but should be disposed of properly. Please do not throw on the property and dispose of properly. A $250 fee is charged for any smoking indoors. We do provide a gas grill that must be brought out into the driveway when in use.

Please do not run the dryer when no one is home.
Downloading illegal content over the Wifi is prohibited and will be reported.

As mentioned we do have a ring doorbell camera for your safety and the safety of the home. Tampering with cameras or the wifi will immediately end the stay without a refund. There is also a camera at the pool controlled by the HOA.

We provide a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and soap to get you started. Please plan accordingly for your supplies that you may need for your entire homestay. We also email a suggested grocery list prior to your stay.

Before you leave be sure to lock all the doors and at the end of your stay lock windows, doors, ensure appliances are off, and all water sources are off. Please do not disengage the garage door opener. If you do, please be sure to press the open/close button a few times and engage it before your departure.

We have never had any issues with the wifi and the router is brand new, high speed, and works great. Please do not tinker with the router or wifi settings. We can reset it remotely if needed, please call or text if this is needed. If for some reason we could not get the router up and running remotely or the cable company could not visit we would issue a $20 refund per stay.
Power/utility outages: We have only had two outages in the last several years for no more than four hours. However, many power outages are not announced before occurring but are brief. We do not offer refunds or compensation for outages of less than 8 hours.

It is the guest's responsibility to bring trash to the trash containers located onsite. Failure to bring out the trash upon checkout will result in a $25 fee.

There is a locked closet in the master bedroom that contains the cleaners cleaning supplies for turnovers. It is not part of the rental. If guests are curious, I will gladly send you a picture of the inside. :)This area is off-limits for guests and not part of the rental.
Note that this is a ground-floor unit. There is a unit above and occasionally you will hear noise from above and/or traffic. We have two white noise machines in each bedroom for people that may be sensitive to any noise.

Please leave the house as you found it and enjoy your stay. Most importantly we hope that you will have a wonderful time at the Cape Salt Life Retreat. If everything is not satisfactory upon arrival guest agrees that they will provide us with an opportunity to remedy any situation upon notification to the host during their stay.

Heat is set at 69 in the winter months and air at 74 in the summer. If you need it adjusted please let us know in advance. Max heat is 74 and air is 71.

Checkout it is at 10:00 am. There is a $30 charge per 30 min past checkout. Our cleaner is typically waiting and this is a charge for her delay as well as a delay to utilize the house past check-out. Please be sure to read and agree to the house rules.

We want to make sure that our home is as much a fit for you as it is for us. Please know that we are very easygoing and love hosting. Please reach out if you have any questions.

BUGS: We don't control the weather, wildlife, or BUGS!. Thank you for your personal responsibility in your choice to travel to Florida! With that being said, here, mosquitoes and noseeums at the beach are part of nature & the great outdoors. You, unfortunately, cannot have one without the other. I suggest you prepare with some mosquito repellent! Florida has a lot of bug varieties all over the place (mostly mosquitoes, ants, fire ants, flies, roaches, and palmetto bugs). You will also, on occasion, see frogs, geckos, lizards, and snakes in and around the vegetation all over FL. The bugs are not associated with cleanliness, so if by rare occasion, you happen to see a critter that wandered inside, fear not! We have regular pest control maintenance inside and out as well as a VERY clean home. As long as you keep all the doors shut, it will be more difficult for them to get in. We are unable to offer any guarantee of a refund for an occasional bug in the house just FYI.

The space
The space:

This Condo in Cape Coral, FL is the perfect place to call home base while visiting Southwest FL. The home is less than a minute to restaurants, shops, doctors & Publix supermarket, and 1 mile from Cape Harbor. It has everything guests need to relax and unwind after a day on the beach or exploring the many surrounding areas. The home has two bedrooms and is able to sleep six guests. There are a total of four beds, one king, one queen queens, and two twin sofa beds. An outdoor patio lanai ensures that everyone will have a place to relax after returning from the beach. Outside, guests can enjoy the condo association's pool on site.

While some relax on the lanai, pool area, others can put their feet up in the living room. The living area and kitchen have an open floor plan and allow guests to spend quality time together. If guests don't feel like eating out, the kitchen is fully equipped so that guests may enjoy any meal at home, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Guests will find the rental has everything they need to truly enjoy a vacation with comfort and a great location. The home has a full kitchen with appliances like a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a microwave, as well as cooking utensils and dishes. The living room has space for everyone and is a great place for a family game night, movies, or just to curl up for a short nap. The home also has streaming Television with high-speed internet. For your entertainment, we have included dozens of board games. No matter how guests decide they want to spend their time at this Cape Condo, this home is just the place you are looking for. Note that parties are now allowed and guests under 25 require advance approval.

PETS - Pets are not allowed: Per the Condo association pets are not allowed and animals of any type require condo assoc approval. Finally, our insurance does not cover animals, guests with such waiver requests would have to purchase liability insurance with 1M coverage covering the address for their stay and provide evidence prior to check-in. See house rules.

You can walk to the many restaurants and grocery, bike, uber or drive to the attractions such as Cape Harbour or the Yacht Club. Cape Coral is known for its many harbors and entertainment. There is a water taxi from the Westin to Ft Myers Beach or you can drive 15 miles to Fr. Myers/Sanibel. Note pending season traffic may vary.
